Coach Cesar Farias summoned five new players
to face Bolivia on Wednesday, in a friendly scheduled by FIFA, to prepare for
the next matches of the 2010 South American World Cup Qualifiers.
Farias confirmed the return to the squad of defender Jonay Hernandez, who plays
for Spain's Pontevedra. Goalkeeper Renny Vega, at Turkey's Bursaspor, and
defender Leonel Vielma and midfielder Luis Manuel Seijas, both at Colombia's
Independiente Santa Fe, were also summoned.
Striker Daniel 'Cafu' Arismendi, at Mexico's Atlante, completes the list.
Arismendi plays regularly with Giancarlo Maldonado, who is still sidelined due
to a knee surgery.
The player who has not been summoned yet by Venezuela's coach is Mallorca top
scorer, Juan Arango, who is expected be back to the friendly matches before the
qualifying matches against Uruguay and Chile in June.
