Tabarez to make longer list
Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez said he will summon more players than usual for next
South American Qualifiers games against Argentina and Bolivia.
There are complicated games in Uruguay's horizon at the South American
Qualifiers. They will meet first Argentina in Buenos Aires, then they will face
Bolivia in La Paz. That's why coach Oscar Tabarez decided to summon more players
than usual for those clashes.
In addition, he announced that the team will arrive in La Paz (3,600 meters over
the sea level) the same day of the game, on October 14.
"I have ten players who were awarded the yellow card; three days after facing
Argentina in Buenos Aires, we'll meet Bolivia, so I need players in good
technical, physical conditions," Tabarez commented.
The coach rejected the chance of drawing a lineup to play Bolivia in La Paz
only, but he admitted he will take into account the players' last performances
in matches held in the altitude.
"This is a soccer game, not a physical contest," Tabarez said; the team will
stay at Santa Cruz de la Sierra (also located at the sea level), but they will
go to La Paz on a plane hired by the Uruguayan Soccer Association (AUF) some
hours before the start of the game.
