Suspensions reduced

Peruvian Football Federation's Justice Committee decided to reduce the suspensions of Claudio Pizarro, Jefferson Farfan and Santiago Acasiete to three months from the national side.
The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) informed in a press release that the suspensions of Claudio Pizarro, Jefferson Farfan and Satiago Acasiete will be in force until July 6th, while in the case of Andres Mendoza the federation confirmed his 18-month suspension.

These four players were punished for having participated, in last November, in a party at the hotel were Peru had gathered to contest a South American qualifier against Brazil.

According to the press release, the suspension goes from April 7, 2008, reason why the three players would be available to be summoned by Peru as from next Monday. At first, the Peruvians had been suspended from the national side for 18 months.

The new decision states each of the players benefited from this reduction has to pay $10,000, money that will be given to the National Institute of Child Health.

A spokesman of the Justice Committee said Farfan's and Acasiete's suspension were reduced because both players accepted responsibility and collaborated with the process, while Pizarro's fault was different.

Peru, who currently stand in the bottom of the South American Qualifiers for South Africa 2010, had to do without these players for the matches against Colombia (1-1) and Uruguay (0-6).
