Hernando Siles stadium targeted

A FIFA commission will inspect Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz, the venue where
Bolivia will meet Chile and Paraguay in South American Qualifiers despite the
international soccer agency ban on playing in the altitude, according to an
official source.
La Paz Sports Director Vladimir Terceros confirmed EFE the arrival of FIFA,
Conmebol observer, Chilean Alfredo Asfura "two or five days before the games" to
be held in June.
Asfura will see if the premises, located at almost 3,600 meters over the level
of the sea, comply with the FIFA rules regarding playing in the altitude.
Chile and Paraguay support Bolivia arguing there is an agreement on the side of
the South American Soccer Confederation (CSF) to respect La Paz as Bolivia's
main venue to play the Qualifiers.
In the event Bolivia be authorized to play at Hernando Siles stadium, La Paz
officials are doing some improvements in the premises; the final invest rises to
$ 1.6 million. The improvements to the stadium include seats on the whole
grandstand, more lights, redesign the dressing rooms, the entrances, and better
security measures, in addition to the installment of an electronic score screen.
