Basile, dissatisfied
Argentina coach stated he is not pleased with their performance against Ecuador,
at the South American Qualifiers, and is thinking on Brazil tie, televised on
JumpTV.
"We failed to play well. We knew Ecuadorians were going to leave few blanks.
When we had the chance, we missed the goals, and as time passed, we got nervous
and flaws appeared," Alfio Basile said after their home draw with Ecuador, at
the South American Qualifiers.
When asked whether they drew because of Ecuador's good performance of because of
Argentina's defects, he said: "A little of both things. The went ahead with
their plan; they didn't create any goal opportunity, except the goal."
"We did have chances to score. Argentina controlled and tried hard to net. But
the team was nervous."
Talking about Wednesday's clash with Brazil, the Argentine coach showed
optimistic and added every match is different.
Basile informed the injured players: "Mascherano was hit in his knee, it hurts a
lot but according to the doctor is not serious. Veron left the field with
muscular pain." It is worth pointing out that Martin Demichelis will miss Brazil
tie due to suspension.
